A Personal Start

Interiu was founded by two friends — Yan Serebryakov (Chief Executive Officer) and Valerii Vaschenko (Chief Data Scientist). We worked together in a global tech company, building AI systems and solving complex problems. But one of the most personal — and unexpectedly frustrating — problems we faced was furnishing our own homes.

We had both reached that exciting moment: buying our first homes. We felt we had outgrown mass-market furniture — but weren’t yet ready to hire an interior designer.

That’s when we discovered how difficult and outdated the process really is.

We found that most premium and mid-range furniture brands don’t show prices online. You have to visit showrooms, request quotes, and wait for a response. Prices are often much higher than expected. Furnishing an entire home with a single brand not only costs a fortune, but it rarely looks good. The best results come from curating pieces from different brands, price ranges, and styles.

Then we learned that most designer and premium furniture is made to order, and production takes 4 to 14 weeks.

And perhaps worst of all, the process is just exhausting. Searching for inspiration, comparing options, trying to match colors, shapes, and materials — it takes time and energy. We often saw friends who spent large budgets, only to end up with an interior that felt chaotic or simply wrong.

That’s why we created Interiu, a service designed to save people time, money, and avoid costly mistakes in furnishing homes.
